MADISON – Voters on Tuesday will pick a new congressman for suburban Milwaukee and decide whether to give a Northwoods representative a full term.

They’ll also decide whether to send six others back to Washington for another two-year term.

All eyes Tuesday will be on which way battleground Wisconsin swings in the race between Republican President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden, but the state’s eight congressional seats are also on the ballot.

Here’s a look at those races.

Voter guide:What to know about voting and the election in Wisconsin

1st Congressional District

MATCHUP ELECTION 2020: Congressional District 1, on right, incumbent Bryan Steil (R) and candidate Roger Polack (D).

Voters in south-central and southeastern Wisconsin will decide whether to give Republican Rep. Bryan Steil a second term for the district that was long held by former House Speaker Paul Ryan.

Steil faces a challenge from Democrat Roger Polack, a Racine native who formerly served as an intelligence analyst and policy adviser with the U.S. Treasury Department.

2nd Congressional District

MATCHUP ELECTION 2020: Congressional District 2, on left, incumbent Mark Pocan (D) and candidate Peter Theron (R).

Four-term Democratic Rep. Mark Pocan again faces a challenge from Republican Peter Theron in the bright blue district centered in Madison. Pocan beat Theron 69% to 31% in 2016.

3rd Congressional District

MATCHUP ELECTION 2020: Congressional District 3, on left, incumbent Ron Kind (D) and candidate Derrick Van Orden (R).

In the most closely watched race in the state, 12-term Democratic Rep. Ron Kind faces a challenge from retired Navy SEAL Derrick Van Orden in a district that stretches across western Wisconsin.

Kind won his 2018 race with 60% of the vote, but Republicans see potential for their party because of a high turnout for Trump in 2016.

4th Congressional District

MATCHUP ELECTION 2020: Congressional District 4, left to right, incumbent Gwen Moore (D), candidate Tim Rogers (R) and candidate Robert Raymond (I).

Democratic Rep. Gwen Moore is seeking a ninth term to represent her Milwaukee-based district. She faces a challenge from Republican Tim Rogers, whom she beat two years ago with 76% of the vote. Independent Robert Raymond is also on the ballot.
